Well I mean another strategy is

    32 x 4 = 128

    Add nothing for the 0 because 4 x 0 is 0.

    128

    The multiply 4 x 8 = 32.

Then add 32 at the end of 128.

    12,832.

This is very complicated and probably will not work on an average problem, but it is a strategy I use for not as complex problems.

A strategy you could use is add up 3208 four times getting

    3208+3208

    and then 6416+3208

    getting 9264+3208

    ending up with 12832
