A length of string 1 yard long is formed into a square. How many inches long is each side of the square?

    Ok, the first thing we have to do is find out how many inches are in a yard.

    12 feet times 12 inches is 144 inches in a yard

    then divide that by 4 because there are 4 sides to a square.

    144/4=36

    each sideis 36 inches long
