To calculate the average value, we multiply the individual value of the components, by the number of the component and then sum the values we get. Finally, we divide the sum by the number of components as such:

    Marble value: 25 * 2 = 50 cents

    Gum value = 10 * 10 = 100 cents

    Nickel value = 15 * 5 = 75 cents

    Total value = 225 cents

    Average value = 225 / 50

    Average value = 4.5 cents
