    (13 - 5n) = 29

    -5n = 29 - 13

    -5n = 16

    n = - 16/5 or - 3 1/5

    Let the number = n

    5*n = 29

    n = 29/5 = 5.8

    The difference between 13 and 5 times the number

    13 - 5*n

    13 - 5*5.8

    13 - 29

    = - 16.
