Last year, the town of Springton received 36 inches of rain. The next year, Springton received 45 inches of rain. What was the percent of increase in rain?

    36 inches is your 100%, so you take 45-36 which equals 9. Then that nine is your increase. So you take your increase and divide it by your 100% so 9/36 to get. 25 which is 25% increase.
