    That is the x value of the vetex

    in form

    y=a (x-h) ^2+b

    vertex is (h, k)

    so look for h

    y=2 (x+3) ^2+5

    y=2 (x - (-3)) ^2+5

    x value is - 3

    x=-3 is axis of symmetry
