    x=3

    ax-3x=4 (x-3a)

    3a-3*3=4 (3-3a)

    3a-9=12-12a

    15a=21

    a=1.4

    x=3 check work. a=1.4, x=3

    ax-3x=4 (x-3a) ax-3x=4 (x-3a)

    3a-9=4 (3) - 12a 3 (1.4) - 3 (3) = 4 (3-3{1.4})

    3a-9=12-12a 4.2-9=4 (3-4.2)

    15a-9=12 - 4.8=4 (-1.2)

    15a=21 - 4.8=-4.8

    a=1.4
