    Taking this as a prism

    height (12 in - 2 in) = 10 in

    width (8 in - 2 in) = 6 in,

    length of 5 in.

    volume of brick = (12 in) (8 in) (5 in) - (6 in) (10 in) (5 in)

    = 180 in^3
