So basically this qestion is asking you to add 1/3 and 5/8 together and divide the result by 2 so first get the denomenator (bottom number) the same

    1/3=8/24

    5/8=15/24

    8/24+15/24=23/24

divide this by 2 and get

    23/48 of clay
