x2 + 14x + y2 + 12y = - 60

A. (x + 7) 2 + (y + 7) 2 = 25

B. (x + 7) 2 + (y + 6) 2 = 25

C. (x - 6) 2 + (y - 7) 2 = 25

    Complet the squares

    (x^2+14x) + (y^2+12y) = - 60

add negative and positive 1/2 of linear coefs inside parenthaees

    14/2=7, 7^2=49

    12/2=6, 6^2=36

    (x^2+14x+49-49) + (y^2+12x+36-36) = - 60

    factor perfect square

    ((x+7) ^2-49) + ((y+6) ^2-36) = - 60

    get rid of parnthaeses

    (x+7) ^2-49 + (y+6) ^2-36=-60

    (x+7) ^2 + (y+6) ^2-85=-60

    add 85 to both sides

    (x+7) ^2 + (y+6) ^2=25
