Arnold had $1.70 in dimes and quarters. He had 3 more dimes than Quarters. How many of each coin did he have?

    Four quarters and seven dimes

    Each quarter is 25 cents so, $0.25 * 4 = $1.00

    Each dime is 10 cents so, $0.10 * 7 = $0.70

    So, $1.00 + $0.70 = $1.70
