    3/4 = 9/12

    1/6 = 2/12

    9/12 - 2/12 = 7/12

    The answer is 7/12

    The answer is 7/12 because 3/4 - 1/6 = 7/12

3/4 converts to 9/12 and 1/6 converts to 2/12. The domanaters stay the same, but 9-2=7. that is how you get 7/12
