A farmer wants to know how many horses and chickens are on the farm. She counted 88 feet and 28 animals. How many of each is there?

    horses = 4 feet

    chickens = 2 feet

    4 x 16 (horses) = 64 feet

    2 x 12 (chickens) = 24 feet

    64 + 12 = 88 feets

    answer: 16 horses and 12 chickens
