    It would be 6,230,504

The reason we have this is because we are rounding the 9 thousand in 6,299,504. Since we have a 5 next to it we will round up causing a chain reaction.

6,299,504 round to the nearest thousand = 6,300,000

the reason why is because 5 (for the hundredth spot) is bigger than 4. When the number is larger than or equal to 5 (5 to 9), you add one for the next spot (in this case, thousandth spot). If the number is less than or equal to 4 (0~4), you change the spot to 0 and do not add anything to the number. Remember when rounding, you need to change the spots that are less than the spot you want to 0. ex. 44,783 rounded to the nearest thousandth - > 45,000.

In this case, the hundredth's spot rounds up and adds one to the next spot. But because there is 9 next spot, the thousandth's spot also changes to 0, and then this step repeats once more. So the answer becomes 6,300,000.

Sorry if you cannot understand ... I am really bad at explaining even though I know how to solve the problem or how to do it.
