3-3x6+2=what is correct answer

This is how I did it:

3 - 1 (3x6) + 2=

-1x3 = - 3

-1x6 = - 6

-3x-6 = + 18

3+18+2 = 23

Is it correct 2 add parentheses around 3x6 and then add an "invisible" 1 in front of the parentheses?

No, because only three is negative when you multiply by six ... you could just do

    3-3x6+2

    3-18+2

    -15+2

    -13
