    So since you combine 12x + 5x you get 17x and then since 7 doesn't have a variable you don't combine it and even if it did it would have to have the same variable in order to combine.

    So the answer would be

    17x+7

    12 and 5 have the same variable so u can add those two and get 17 and multiply the x which is 17x + 7 yea
