The area of a triangular block is 64 sq in. if the base of the triangle is twice the height, how long are the base and the height of the triangle

    The area of a triangular block is given the formula:

    Area = bh/2

    Let h = height

    Let b = base = 2h

    Area = bh/2

    64 = (2h) (h) / 2

    64 = 2h^2/2

    64 = h^2

    h = 8

    So the the length of the base is

    2h = 16

    And the length of the height is

    h = 8

    So, height is equal to 8 in and the base is equal to 16.
