A certain colony of bacteria triples in length ever 10 minutes. It's length is now 1 millimeter. How long will it be in 40 minuets?

    You start with 3 millimeters then you multiply it by 3. 9, then you multiply that by 3. 27, keep doing that. You do it four times. So the answer is 81 millimeters.

    4 mm bc if 10 min = 1 mm then 40 min = 4mm
