Kelly and her friend collect 12 rocks. 6/12 of the rocks are chert. Use division to write an equivalent fraction. Explain how you know the fractions are equivalent.

    Divide the numerator the same as the denominator. Divide down 6 and 12 until you come up with 1/2. The fractions are equivalent. You can check this with multiplication
