    Consecutive odd integers are 2 apart

    they 2 numbers are

    n and n+2

    their product is 99

    n times n+2=99

    n (n+2) = 99

    n²+2n=99

    minus 99 both sides

    n²+2n-99=0

    what 2 numbres multiply to - 99 and add to get 2

    if you can't do that

    complete square

    n²+2n+1-100=0

    (n+1) ²-100=0

    (n+1) ²=100

    sqrt both sides

    n+1=+/-10

    n=-1+/-10

    n=-11 or 9

    if n=-11, then n+2=-9

    if n=9 then n+2=11

    the integers are - 11 and - 9 or 9 and 11
