A player on a school baseball team reaches first base 3/10 of the time he is at bat. Out of 80 times at bat, about how many times would you preduction he will reach first base

    Set up a proportion: 3/10 = x/80. Then if you multiply 10 by 8, you get 80 on both sides, But, If you do it to the top, you also have to do it to the bottom, so the anser is 3 x 8, or 24.

    If he hits it 3/10 times and 10 x 8 = 80 then you would do 3 x 8 = 24
