The ratio of the number of adults to the number of students at the pro has to be 1:10 last year there we're 477 more students than adults at the prom if the school is expecting the same attendance this year how many adults have to attend prom?

    The ratio means that for every 10 students, there is one adult. From this we see that 1 out of every 11 will be an adult. 1/11 of 477 is 43.36. Since you can't have part of a person, you would round to 44 adults.
