    S = 25 + 2f

    s + f = 310

    substitute s = 25 + 2f into the second equation

    25 + 2f + f = 310

    3f + 25 = 310

    subtract 25 from both sides

    3f = 285

    divide both sides by 3

    f = 95

    faculty = 95

    students = 310 - 95 = 215
