Sue's car used 12 gallons of gas on a 300 mile trip. Jen's car used 5 gallons of gas on a 140 mile trip. Whose car got miles per gallon?

    Jens car did, because she got 28 miles to the gallon while Sue only got 25 miles to the gallon

    Both cars got miles per gallon.

    Sue's car got (300 miles) / (12 gallons) = 25 miles/gallon.

    Jen's car got (140 miles) / (5 gallons) = 28 miles/gallon.
