Hudson picked 1 1/4 baskets of apples. Suzy picked 2 basket of apples. How many more basket of apples did Suzy picked than Hudson?

    We will have to subtract 1 1/4 from 2. But we must make them so that they have like denominators.

    1 1/4 becomes 5/4.

    Getting a common denominator, 2 becomes 8/4

    so: 8/4 - 5/4

    Suzy picked 3/4 baskets more than Hudson.
