Jared has 96 books to arrange on 6 shelves of a bookcase. He wants each shelf to have the same number of books. Using the distributive property, write an expression Jared can use to find out how many books he can put in each shelf.

    60 + 36 = 96

    (6x10) + (6x6)

    96-60=36

    10+6=16

    96 : 6 = 16

    6x16=96

    Jared can put 16 books in each shelf.
