    Let c be crayons, and p be paper.

    1c + 5p = $54

    5c + 3p = $50

    Solve these equations for c and p.

    22p = $220

    So p = $10.

    Put this into one of the equations, and solve to find that c = $4

    $4 per box of crayons, and $10 per ream of paper.
