Difference from Base 0.10°C - 0.17°C - 0.10°C 1/50°C 0.54°C

Ms. Morgan's class studied the changes in average global temperature in math class as a part of their study of rational numbers. The table shows how each year varies from a base measure.

Order the five years from coldest to warmest.

A) - 0.17°C, - 0.10°C, 0.10°C, 0.54°C, 1/50°C

B) - 0.17°C, - 0.10°C, 1/50°C, 0.10°C, 0.54°C

C) - 0.10°C, - 0.17°C, 0.10°C, 1/50°C, 0.54°C

D) 0.10°C, - 0.17°C, - 0.10°C, 1/50°C, 0.54°C

B because 1/50 degrees Celcius is 0.02. The order would be - 0.17,-0.10,0.02,0.10,0.54, which is B. Or you can order it in years: 1964,1958,1978,1965,2002.
