What is the reason for using greatest common factor?

    Greatest common factor is the best way to simplify fractions. For instance, 20/100 has a common factor of 5, which would give you the fraction, 4/20, but 20/100 also has a common factor of 20, which is the greatest common faction, leaving you the fraction 1/5
