Mr. Rivas bought a can of paint ... he used 3/8 of it to paint a bookshelf. He used 1/4 of it to paint a wagon. He used some of it to paint a birdhouse and has 1/8 of the paint left. How much paint did he used for the birdhouse?

    1/4 becomes 2/8 to be equal so he used up 2/8

    3/8 + 2/8 = 5/8 + 1/8 = 6/8 + (insert birdhouse here) 8/8 / 1

    3/8 - 2/8 = 1/8 - 1/8 = 0/8 + (insert birdhouse here) 2/8
