    The answer is 1 why because

    7 (5a - 4) - 1 = 14 - 8a

    35a - 28 - 1 = 14 - 8a

    +8a + 8a

    43a - 28 - 1 = 14

    43a - 29 = 14

    + 29 + 29

    43a = 43

    ___ ___

    43 43

    a = 1
