    X number of oranges

    y number of apples

    she had 4/3 as many oranges as she had apples

    4/3x=y

    x+y = 80

    we solve the system

    x+y = 80

    4/3x-y=0

    x+y = 80

    4x-3y=0

    7y=320=> y=45.7

    and x=34.3

    so we can assume that x=34 and y=46
