A manufacturing plant is looking at units shipped for a 3-year period. In 2005, the plant shipped 12,500 units. In 2008, the plant shipped 16,000 units. Find the rate of change of units shipped over the 3-year period.

    The rate of change is the difference between two numbers so, you take the number from 2008 (16,000) and subtract the number from 2005 (12,500) and you get 3,500
