How does the number of pieces in a whole relate to the size of each piece?

    Okay, so ...

    the more pieces there are, the smaller the pieces. So first, imagine big pie. Imagine there being eight pieces. Then, imagine another pie with 14 pieces. See a size difference? Less pieces would mean bigger pieces. Imagine yet another pie cut into 2 pieces. See how big the pie pieces are compared to the pies cut into eights and twelfths?
