    Perimiter=2 (L+W)

    L is 3 more than 4 times W

    L=3+4W

    P=86

    sub

    86=2 (L+W)

    L=3+4W

    86=2 (3+4W+W)

    86=2 (3+5W)

    divide both sides by 2

    43=3+5W

    minus 3 both sides

    40=5W

    divide boht sides by 5

    8=W

    sub back

    L=3+4W

    L=3+4 (8)

    L=3+32

    L=35

    legnth=35 inches
