How do we find equivalent ratios? We can do equivalent ratios by multiplying or dividing both sides (means and extremes) of the ratio with the same number just like looking for equivalent fractions.
Let us try looking for the 3 equivalent ratios of 12/14.
12/14 is written in ratio as 12:14.
Let us divide both sides with the same number. When both sides of 12:14 are divided by 2 we can have 6:7.
Lets try multiplication.
The ratio 6:7 is also equivalent to 24:28 when both sides of 12:14 are multiplied with 2. We can also have 36: 42 when we multiply 3 to both sides of 12:14.
Therefore, 12/14 is equivalent to: 6:7, 24:28, and 36:42.
