    A Rectangle has 4 sides so let x = width and 2x equal length so it should read as follows: 2 (2x) + 2 (x) = 216 (perimeter)

    4x+2x=216

    6x=216

    divide by 6 both sides to isolate x

    x=36

    check equation

    2 (36) = 72

    2 (72) = 144

    72 + 144=216
