The manager is balancing the ledger for a small art supply store. The initial balance is $463.76. Refunds for $12.56, $52.11 and $26.03 have been given today. Sales were $101.32 and $10.98. She comes up with a new balance of $511.39, but her assistant verifying the calculations says it should be $485.36. What did the manager do wrong

    Initial balance : 463.76

    refunds : 12.56 + 52.11 + 26.03 = 90.70

    sales : 101.32 + 10.98 = 112.30

    463.76 - 90.70 + 112.30 = 485.36 is the correct balance

    so there is a (511.39 - 485.36) = 26.03 difference

    so the mistake made was instead of subtracting the 26.03 refund, she added it as a sale
