The Sun hits a 30 foot flagpole at a 60° angle and casts an unobstructed 52 foot shadow. If a building is built 32 feet away, what height will the shadow strike the side of the building?

    The slope is - 30/52 and the height of the shadow can be expressed as:

    h=30-30x/52

    h = (1560-30x) / 52 now when x is 32 we get:

    (1560-30*32) / 52≈11.54ft (to nearest hundredth of a foot)
