what is - {-59}

I think its - 59 ... but I'm not sure

    It's just 59 because the negative sign makes the number the opposite of the original number making it become a positive

    Nope. The minus sign on the outside stands for '-1' and it multiplies everything inside the parentheses. So the whole thing becomes. + 59.
