Write 2.18 as a improper fraction which is 218/100 and then simplify to 109/50. Below is my work.

2.18 = 2.18 / 1
Numerator = 2.18 * 10 * 10 * 10 = 2180
Denominator = 1 * 10 * 10 * 10 = 1000
Numerator / Denominator = 2180 / 1000
Simplifying our fraction
= 2180/1000
= 109/50 ⇒ answer.
= 2 9/50
