    40j - 16 = > 8 (5j - 2)

The distributive property is when you take the number outside the parenthesis and multiple them to what's inside.

So in this case: 8*5j=40j and 8*2=16. Then bc the 16 was subtracted, and your dividing by a pos 8, it'll remain neg.
