    -5x+x/2=9 first times the two

    -5x+x=18 the - 5x and x can be combined to equal - 4x

    -4x=18 divide by - 4

    x=-4.5

    or - 9/2

    Ok soo

    -5x+x/2=9

    - 4x/2=9

    - (2^2-1 * x) = 9

    2x/2 = - 9/2

    x = - 9/2

    x = - 4 1/2
