48 over 19 subtract negative 31 over 11

    The answer would be 5.344. First you start with the division using order of operations

    (i will be rounding to the nearest thousandth. Ex. 1.3337--->1.334)

    (48/19) - (-31/11) = (2.526) - (-2.818)

    and now you take away the negative 2.818, which when taking away negatives is exactly like adding, so if you want you can change the minus sign too a plus sign and make negative 2.818 become a positive number (new equation: 2.526+2.818)

    2.526--2.818=5.344.
