A boat traveled 300 miles downstream and back. The trip downstream took 10 hours. The trip back took 30 hours. What is the speed of the boat in still water? What is the speed of the current?

    When you went downstream you were going 30 mph when you were headed back upstream you were only going 10 mph. The water would be moving at a 20 mph speed.
