Rachel has 145 mugs displayed at a craft show. She displayed them in 8 rows with the same number of mugs in each row. How many mugs in each row? Explain how you interpreted the remainder

    145 divided by 8 = 18 R1.

    18 mugs are in each row with one mug left over. I would put the left over mug for everyone to see and its out of its box and in front of the other mugs.

    There are 18 mugs in each row with a remainder of one. The remainder could represent on mug that he has in his hands or is in front of all.
