    You divide everything by 2.

    Your answer is

    Y=1/2 + 3/2

    So if you want to solve for x then

    2y=x+3

    subtract 3 from both sides

    x=2y-3

    if you want to solve for y

    2y=x+3

    divide both sides by 2

    y = (x+3) / 2
