How much pure antifreeze must be added to 12 gallons of 10% antifreeze to make 70% antifreeze solution

    (0.10 x 12) + 1.00 y =.5 (12 + y)

    1.2 + 1.00 y = 6 +.5 y

    .5 y = 4.8

    y = 9.6 gallons
