    3/4 - 1/8 = 6/8 - 1/8 = 5/8 ... so 5/8 = 10 gallons

    (5/8) / 10 = 1 / x

    cross multiply

    (5/8) (x) = (10) (1)

    5/8x = 10

    x = 10 * 8/5

    x = 80/5 = 16 < = = so it would take 16 gallons to fill the tank
