    Bill=parts+labor

    labor=31 times hours or h

    parts=125

    bill=311

    311=125+31h

    minus 125 both sides

    186=31h

    divide both sides by 31

    6=h

    6 hours

    311-125 = 186

    186 / 31=6

    It took 6 hours.
